Meet the teams

For the 2008 season we will be running 8 teams…

…6 Open Sanctioned Teams, 1 multibreed team and 1 starters team

2008 Open Sanctioned Teams

These teams race in open sanctioned tournament, all dogs must be over 18 months of age and capable of hurdling their full height jumps without running out of the racing lane.

All our dogs are timed and teams are selected on that basis i.e. the 4 fastest are in the Rebels, next 4 in Rockets etc although experience, reliability and consistency also play a part in team selection. Teams may be ‘re-shuffled’ throughout the season depending on availability and performance.

The youngsters/beginners will usually progress out of starters into the lower teams before moving up into the faster teams (if they’re fast enough!)

2008 Starters Teams

Starters competition is for any dog older than 12 months, the lanes are netted in and the hurdles are the minimum 7”, it is a great way of introducing youngsters and beginners to competition.

Multibreed Team

2006 was the first year we ran a multibreed team. As the name suggests a multibreed team must consist of 4 different breeds and you are allowed only one crossbreed. We had a very successful season but sadly we lost our Springer Spaniel Oskar at the end of the year and did not run a multibreed team during 2007 but the Riff Raff will be back in the ring for 2008 with two new spaniels!!
